2014 News

Saturday 13th September 2014 - Beamish Museum

The band were asked to play at the 'surprise' 50th Birthday celebrations of their musical leader    Ian Watson. Everything had been hush hush for months. Janice even organised an alternative conductor for the evening as well as a small group of the younger members to form DYNAMIX to perform in the evening. No-one suspected a thing. The surprise was on the band when they   arrived to find out they were actually playing for the arrival of evening guests for Ian & Janice's wedding. Ashleigh had prepared a speech for Ian's 50th but had to think quickly on her feet and change it to suit their wedding. Janice & Ian really appreciated the unexpected speech and found   it touching & very funny. We want to wish them the best of luck for their future.

Sunday 23rd February 2014 - Beamish Museum - Home Farm

Beamish Museum opened their doors to the new look Home Farm taking its visitors back to World War II. This was the last day of this event which had taken place over the half term. The North East Concert Band led guests & staff in a dance, 1940's style, with a selection of music from the era.
Thank you to our guest trumpet players Angela and John.
